About Promise of America
Promise of America is based on the following beliefs:
- America is an exceptional nation. It was founded on principles unlike any nation in the history of man.
- Our Founding principles are what enabled us to become the most free, prosperous and powerful nation in the world.
- America is a beacon of hope for those living under oppression in every corner of the world. Even before we became a nation, people risked their lives to come to America for religious, political and economic freedom. They never stopped coming, even to this day. As Ronald Reagan said, “America is a shining city upon a hill whose beacon light guides freedom-loving people everywhere.”
- America has done more good in the world than any nation in history. The world would be much worse off if America as we know it ceased to exist.
The Problem
America has drifted off course. This is not a Republican or Democrat issue. This started long before the current administration came to power. We lost our way because we forgot from where we came. We stopped teaching our children the principles this nation was founded upon. We started placing more importance on political correctness than on principles. We elected politicians who don’t understand our founding principles, want to fundamentally change them, or don’t really care as long as they get want they want. We replaced individual responsibility with an attitude that someone else will take care of our needs.
The Solution
Fortunately, there exists a solution to get us back on course. It’s a framework for making government work for its citizens. It’s contained in two relatively brief documents and lays out the purpose of government and how government must be structured. It outlines the manner in which responsibilities should be assigned. It has built-in safeguards to make sure no person or branch of government can seize sufficient power to oppress its citizens. It establishes justice, provides for our defense and promotes our general welfare. It was written not only for those who lived at the time of its writing but for posterity. It’s a framework that will never be outdated because it’s based on the “Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God.”
These documents were written by some of the best and brightest minds in history. Not Ivy League professors or a Washington think tank. These men were geniuses. They believed they were brought together at a particular time and place by divine intervention. They risked everything to provide us with the most remarkable and successful political framework ever written. These are men who mutually pledged to each other their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor. Of course, I’m referring to our Founding Fathers, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States.
We’ve had the solution all along. We just took it for granted, as is human nature, and eventually strayed away from it, little by little. However, it’s not too late to reverse course. We can and must get back to the principles that made this a great nation. In order to do it, we need to re-educate ourselves on our nation’s founding principles.
Please start by reading the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. You’ll find links to them at the top of every page on this site under Founding Documents. It doesn’t take very long to read them. They are astonishingly succinct. Learn all you can about these documents and the men who wrote them. Evaluate everything you hear coming out of Washington based on one simple question:
Does this idea, bill or law truly represent the words and intent of our founders as written in our founding documents?
If the answer is no, we must reject it. We must also take a closer look at those we elect to represent us. Are they really abiding by the oath each of them took to “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States?”
The goals of this website are to shine a light on our elected officials, holding them accountable to us, the people. We will take every opportunity to call them out when they are not abiding by the Constitution and attempt to explain how their words or actions differ from the intent of our founders.
Our views are certainly conservative, since we believe the best direction for America is the path laid out in our founding documents. However, this is not a Republican versus Democratic website.
Our objective is to separate fact from fiction. We judge issues based on Constitutional Principles. As such, representatives from both parties will be called out when they deserve it.
Please take two actions right now if you believe in what we’re doing.

- Please send a message to your contact lists asking them to visit this site. We must as citizens, be informed as best we can. As Thomas Jefferson said, “If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.”
